Relationship Week #1

10/7/2013

The theme of this week's posts is relationships. I'm having a bit of trouble with this one, it's such a HUGE topic! Where do I start? Everything in life is relationships! Who am I to speak about relationships? What could I possibly have to say about relationships?
WHAT WAS I THINKING OF???

Ummm... That's not a great beginning to a post, is it? Especially from the "host" of this blog hop. But I thought I'd give you a chance to see the real me, before the writing me kicks in. (She hasn't kicked in yet.)
(Still hasn't)
(Where is she?!)
(...I think I'm on my own here...)

Okay...um...
...This is kinda how the beginning of a relationship feels...
It's just...like...where do you start...?

Next time, I'll try to do better. Really, you should see me on a second date! I'm much more coherent ...

Oh God, there won't be a second date, will there...?

(I'm such an idiot! Idiot! IDIOT!)

I hope you come back on the 9th. I'll dress prettier! I'll do my hair better! I'll clean my teeth! I'll think of something to say!!!

Well... goodnight. I...had a good time...

That is the reaction I had about the week on childhood.

Ha! You're so funny!

When I was young it was, "Did he notice my zit? (Yes, because you covered it up so thick with make-up that it's now a small mountain.) Now, it would be, "Oh, can he see that chin hair I missed? Crap, did my pantyliner leak?" Ach!

It's so funny because everything I wrote last week led up to yesterday's post about my mother's first husband and, today, I was pondering where I'd go next with the whole thing. I didn't even think about coming here to see what the theme is. I just wanted to see what I thought would be a natural flow. Now that I know the theme, imagine my surprise when I say that where I was already going to go next with the writing ties in beautifully with the theme. Surprise!

Hi Satia - I sent everyone an email on Sunday with this weeks theme. Aren't you getting the emails?

LOL, Jan. That's kinda why I stuck with my memory snippets. But I'm having fun recalling certain details. This is a great idea!

Ha! I'm already composing a post like this for next week's topic. Funny how different topics make different ones of us freeze. Childhood and Relationships, I can do. Secrets is proving problematic.

That was great. "I'll dress prettier." It made me laugh. And so true...how awkward beginnings of relationships are and sometimes how I can't even remember the beginning.

Whew! I really froze - so I thought I'd turn it into a joke - glad you all saw the humour. (blush)

I'm pretty smooth (I think) with a one of one situation, no matter who, except if the person has some kind of celebrity. I once had the chance to meet one of my all time favorite singers at a folk festival I had a booth at, and everyone was greeting him, saying hello, telling him how they admored his music etc., and my best friend, who knew I really *did* love his music kept encouragoing me to say hello... even the msot inept people were graciously met by this guy and I jsut couldn't do it. I thought "does he really need one more person telling him how great he is or how much they love his music?" and I couldn't think of anything better to say so I allowed the moment - actually several of them/so painful! - to pass. More a comment of my own self-esteem I'm afraid...
